Striker not looking to demand a move after Spurs link

Emile Heskey has reassured Wigan Athletic that he sees his future at the JJB Stadium. The striker was recently linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur as Juande Ramos weighs up options to improve his attack. Wigan boss Steve Bruce played down suggestions Heskey could leave the club ahead of the close of the transfer window. The England international has also now moved to pledge his commitment to the Latics, who he joined two years ago from Birmingham City.

Doing well

Heskey has held talks with Wigan chairman Dave Whelan regarding his future and admits he is happy to stay with the club. "The chairman spoke to me recently about my future and he said that until I came up to him and told him I wanted to go then he wouldn't entertain any bids," said Heskey in the Sunday Express. "I think that's fair enough. "I'm not going to do that because I don't want to leave. I'm doing well at Wigan."
