Switch to Sheffield would suit Swede
Wigan defender Erik Edman is keen on a loan move to Sheffield United as he bids to find regular playing time in England.
The experienced Swede has found opportunities at the DW Stadium limited as he has had to play second fiddle to Maynor Figueroa.
Edman's existing deal at Wigan expires in the summer and it seems all but certain he will leave the club in the close season.
Although he has attracted offers and interest from Germany and Holland respectively, Edman is keen to prolong his stay in England.
His agent, Allan Bak Jensen, claims Sheffield United are very keen and that they would be the perfect fit.
"There has been a big interest from Dutch clubs and recently Erik turned down a big German club that wanted to take him on loan till this summer," he told
Aftonbladet.
"Sheffield United would suit Erik really good. The club has expressed a big interest in loaning Edman.
"But nothing is definite yet. A loan to Sheffield would suit really good for social reasons. Erik and his wife Hanna are awaiting a third child and don't want to move.
"Going on loan will probably not be the final move."
