Latics boss says winger's loan move by no means a done deal
Roberto Martinez indicates that Daniel de Ridder's loan move to Israeli side Hapoel Tev-Aviv is by no means a done deal.
The Wigan winger gave the impression that the transfer was all sewn up and that it was only a matter of time before he temporarily departed the DW Stadium.
The Dutchman has grown frustrated waiting for his chance to impress Martinez and is yet to make a single appearance for the Latics this term.
The Wigan manager admits that a deal is close but the terms of the transfer need to be right for Latics before they can sanction the loan.
"He is very close to agreeing a loan deal," he said.
"He has been frustrated after working hard in training and needs a bit of competitive football.
"Sometimes a player needs a fresh challenge. The deal has to be right, however, for the club and for Danny as well.
"Sometimes that takes a little bit more time. We will see how things develop."
