Wigan striker determined to make most of footballing talents
Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega is setting his targets high as he seeks to go as far as he can in the game.
The 25-year-old Colombian moved to the DW Stadium in a £4.5million transfer from Mexican outfit Necaxa in January 2009.
While he took his time to settle in England, he has gone on to become a firm favourite with the Latics fans, netting 16 top flight goals.
But the striker is not resting on his laurels and is looking to push on and make the most of his footballing talents.
The striker told the
Daily Mail: "I hope I've learned a lot, improved a lot. If I'm here, I hope we're challenging for a European place and I'm setting goalscoring records.
"If I'm not here, I'll be at another club in England. In five years, I hope I'll have played at the World Cup and that I'm playing at one of the big clubs in Europe."
Daunting trip
Wigan face the daunting trip to tackle Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday and Rodallega is targeting victory.
He added: "'You never know what could happen.
"Yes, it's Manchester United at Old Trafford but we have good players too. We are going to look for a win.
"I don't know about getting a hat-trick but it would be good to win because we've never taken a point off them."
