Four senior Sheffield United players have committed their futures to the club by signing new contracts.
Captain Billy Sharp, Chris Basham and Paul Coutts have all agreed two-year deals while Kieron Freeman has signed a three-year contract.
The news comes as Sheffield United step up preparations for their return to the Championship.
Manager Chris Wilder told www.sufc.co.uk: "It's a huge boost. Supporters and media always want to know about new signings coming in to improve the group, but to get these boys to tie their immediate futures to the club is fantastic.
"I'm delighted they see their football at this club going forward. We've all got a point to prove going into the Championship and we feel these boys can compete at that level. That's why we've offered them improved terms and good length contracts.
Wilder added: "The four of them were at the heartbeat of what happened last season and we've always said we would reward those who produce the goods for us. I'm loyal, but not sentimental."
