Blades supremo wants better communication

Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe has blasted the Premier League's handling of their plans to host an 'international round' of fixtures on foreign soil. The Premier League recently unveiled an initiative to play competitive league fixtures away from England, in order to promote the game abroad and also to allow fans who would not normally have the chance of seeing their teams in action to do so. However, their plans have been given a mixed reaction and now Blades chairman McCabe has followed the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson by hitting out over the lack of communication regarding the proposal. "I am commercial myself and, given the Premier League's popularity, I would consider an overseas round of matches worth looking at," stated McCabe in The Guardian. "But this has come out with no advance discussions with other parties, no consideration of the effect on supporters, other clubs or other countries and seems virtually a fait accompli. "Again, it's all about doing a deal, and the integrity of the game has been lost."
