Wedgbury joins Macclesfield on one-year deal

Promising midfielder Sam Wedgbury has been given the chance to resurrect his career at Macclesfield. The 21-year-old was a free agent following his release from Sheffield United at the end of last season after failing to break into the first team. The youngster, who has agreed a one-year deal with the Silkmen, had spent much of the past two seasons on loan at Hungarian side Ferencvaros, who are the Blades' sister club. His arrival at Moss Rose comes as Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson revamps his squad for the upcoming League Two campaign.
