Parrino hoping to stay in UK after Blades spell

Sheffield United loan star Elian Parrino is in no doubt that he would like to stay in the UK once the Championship season draws to a close. The 22-year-old is coming to the end of his season-long stay at Bramall Lane from Argentine side Estudiantes. Parrino has made nine appearances in the United first-team and was a regular in Micky Adams' side prior to suffering a fractured metatarsal Although it has been a tumultuous year at Bramall Lane, Parrino insists the experience has been a valuable one and has appreciated the support he has been given from the fans. "I am grateful to have been given this opportunity with Sheffield United - the fans and staff at Sheffield United have been brilliant to me since I have been here" Parrino told skysports.com. "I have played for Sheffield United at right-back. I hope the club and the fans were happy with the job I did and I had no hesitation when Micky Adams asked me to play for him in this position. "I've grown up playing at centre-back but I am happy to play in any position."

Move

Parrino, who holds an Italian passport allowing him to play in Europe, has caught the eye of a number of English scouts and he has revealed he is searching for a new club with a move to Bramall Lane unlikely following their relegation from the Championship. "A little earlier in the season, Sheffield United spoke to my agent and suggested that I would be given a contract at Bramall Lane next season and I was very happy about this but I have learned things can change quickly in football. "At the minute my agent is talking to people to see what other options there are. "I'd certainly be interested in an offer to stay at Sheffield United if one did come up in the summer. But I just want to play football. That is why I am here." Whatever remains in store, the young Estudiantes player is staying positive. "Hopefully I will be playing my football next season in Europe and especially England. "I like it here. I like the mentality. I like the way that we play football over here and the supporters and people are great."
