Charlton have paid an undisclosed fee to sign goalkeeper Ross Worner from Woking.
Addicks manager Phil Parkinson believes the 20-year-old possesses plenty of potential as he aims to build a squad capable of earning promotion from League One.
Parkinson, who signed Matt Fry on loan from West Ham United earlier on Thursday, is therefore delighted to have completed the deal.
"We're really pleased to get Ross," he told Charlton's
official website. "He's a young keeper who wants to be successful. We feel he has real potential and we're going to give him a chance to be successful at this level."
Parkinson added: "The reason we've signed a youngster is to give us opportunities within our budget.

"We can always bring in an experienced keeper on loan if we need to in the event of injuries further down the line."
Meanwhile, Parkinson wants to sign Dagenham striker Paul Benson, but admits he will not be in place before Saturday's curtain-raiser against Bournemouth.
Parkinson wants Benson, who has hit 82 goals in five years with the Daggers, to boost his attack.
Arsenal's Emmanuel Frimpong has also been linked with a move to The Valley, but Parkinson says he has not enquired about the young midfielder.
"We're working hard, but I don't see anyone arriving before the weekend," said Parkinson.
"Benson is one of several players we've enquired about, but we haven't enquired about Frimpong. He's a good player, but we're focusing on other areas."
