Norwich deny Ashton talk
Norwich have denied reports they have agreed a fee with West Ham for Dean Ashton.
Norwich City have denied reports the club have accepted a bid from West Ham United for Dean Ashton. The Hammers are leading the chase for the England Under-21 international, who only moved to Carrow Road during the last January transfer window.
Reports have claimed that West Ham have struck a deal with Norwich to sign the powerful striker for £8 million.
But the Championship club have scotched the transfer talk and are adamant that no agreement has been reached with The Hammers.
"We have not agreed a fee for Dean with West Ham for £8 million, nor indeed accepted any other bids for any other players with any other club," Canaries chief executive Neil Doncaster told the club's official website.
Norwich manager Nigel Worthington was also quick to dismiss suggestions that any of his key players could be sold.
Robert Green has been strongly linked with a switch to Portsmouth, but Worthington revealed his phone has been cold during the transfer window.
Worthington said: "As far as phone calls and offers are concerned there is absolutely nothing to report and that's 100 percent true as I speak."
