Pompey hoping for resolution to defender's future
West Ham United are continuing talks with Portsmouth regarding a deal to bring Tal Ben Haim back to Upton Park.
Ben Haim spent the first half of the season on loan with the Hammers and made 12 appearances for the Premier League's bottom club.
His last outing for West Ham was in the 5-0 drubbing at Newcastle earlier this month and the Israeli defender is now back at Portsmouth as discussions continue regarding his future.
Portsmouth's chief executive David Lampitt confirmed the talks are ongoing and is optimistic a resolution will be reached.
Lampitt told
The News: "Discussions are ongoing regarding Tal Ben Haim.
"There have been talks between the clubs, the player and his representatives.
"We're working with West Ham and have been in contact with them frequently.
"Hopefully, there will be a resolution in the near future but it's difficult to go into details at this stage."
