Nielsen hints at Danish return

WATFORD midfielder Allan Nielsen has hinted that he may leave England in the summer.

The Danish international's contract at Watford expires at the end of the season and he is not sure whether or not he will be offered a new one.

The club's precarious financial situation may see Nielsen leave the club and the midfielder revealed he could be interested in a return to his native homeland.

"That is a possibility that I get a contract extension with Watford. However I have not heard anything yet and I am strongly considering a return to Denmark to settle us down there," Nielsen told Politiken.

"My eldest daughter is to start at school and it would be nice if she would start in a Danish one.

"As a 31-year-old I still feel that I'm fit for the fight. I have no injury problems and it's too early to step down. I will make up my mind after the season.

"When we move back to Denmark we will live in Copenhagen, but it's not that I want to play for one specific club in Superligaen. These times you need to be open minded."
