St Mirren have secured Jure Travner on a contract until the end of the season after he left Watford.

Lennon could offer left-back more long-term contract

St Mirren have secured Jure Travner on a contract until the end of the season after the defender was released by Watford. Travner has been on loan at St Mirren since last summer and has made 25 appearances for Danny Lennon's side. He has now been offered the incentive of earning a long-term deal with the Buddies, although it could hinge on the club retaining their SPL status. Lennon told the club's official website: "Watford have released Jure so we have taken him on until the end of the season, which now makes him officially a St Mirren player. "Jure is very settled where he is, we've had a chat with him but until we know our position the deal for now is until the end of the season. "He is a player I would like to keep here on a longer basis so I hope sooner rather than later we can sit down and talk about it." The Slovenian left-back had joined Watford in 2009, but he was unable to make an impression on the first team at Vicarage Road.
