James signs after impressing on trial
Watford have completed the signing of defender Tom James from Stratford Town on a short-term deal.
The 22-year-old has spent pre-season with the Hornets, allowing new manager Sean Dyche the chance to run the rule over the left-back.
After playing the full 90 minutes of a recent friendly with Sunderland Dyche has offered the trialist a short-term contract, with the option of extending the agreement should James impress.
"Tom's a late developer but he has shown enough over the last few weeks to warrant a deal," Dyche told the club's
official website.
"I'm hoping Tom can develop further over the forthcoming months."
