Cardiff have announced defender Fabio will be out for at least a month with a foot injury.

The former Manchester United man was taken off after just half an hour of Saturday's goalless draw away to Ipswich and subsequently underwent scans on the problem.

Cardiff, who face Leeds at Elland Road on Tuesday, have now confirmed the extent of the Brazilian's injury.

A club statement said: "We can confirm that Fabio da Silva damaged ligaments in his right foot during the first half of our fixture with Ipswich Town on Saturday.

"Following the results of a scan, the Club's medical department have confirmed that the defender will be sidelined for between four to six weeks."
