Brentford's Alan Judge wins October's Player of the Month award

Brentford midfielder Alan Judge has been named the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for October.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a superb month for the Bees, scoring three goals and providing four assists. 

His influence helped Brentford to four successive victories, which included a 1-0 win over local rivals Queens Park Rangers. 

Brentford manager Lee Carsley said: "I am really pleased for Alan to get this recognition and reward for his hard work. It is something he deserves.

"He has been the outstanding player in the Sky Bet Championship this month and his focus is now on winning this in November, December and every month.

"We have spoken internally that if he wants to be a full international, the consistency he has shown in the last month has to be replicated for ten, 11, 12 months. That is his target."

Millwall striker Aiden O'Brien has been named the Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Month for October.

The young Irishman has played a pivotal role in the Lions' surge up the League 1 table, scoring in victories over Swindon Town and Sheffield United. 

O'Brien's three goals helped Millwall win three of their six league matches, lifting them to seventh, two points off the play-off positions.  

"It's a fantastic achievement for young Aiden to win the Player of the Month award," Millwall manager Neil Harris said. 

"We have had a real upturn in our performances with some great results of late and Aiden's form has been a big part of that. 

"He is a terrific young man, a real infectious character, and he plays with desire and enthusiasm. We are all witnessing his ability at the moment."

Morecambe forward Shaun Miller has been named the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month for October.

The 28-year-old scored his first goal in nearly a year in the defeat to Bristol Rovers and netted a sensational 30-yard dipping volley in the victory away at AFC Wimbledon. 

Miller ended the month with figures of six goals in five matches. 

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley said: "Shaun has been in great form throughout the month of October. His professionalism and attitude towards his job have been first class since he arrived at the club and his performances have been excellent. 

"We felt once he got a goal to match these performances that he would go on and do what he does best, score goals. 

"He got his first goal for the club at the start of October and continued to score another five league goals during the month which is a fantastic achievement and I'm sure there will be more to follow."
