Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal hailed a top team performance from his side after they came from behind to win 4-1 against Wolves, describing his players as "fantastic".
The hosts then extended their advantage just before the hour when Daniel Pudil netted before Gary Hooper completed the scoring in stoppage time.
It was Wednesday's first win in six league and cup matches, and Carvalhal was full of praise for the way his players responded to going behind.
"We had a challenge and the players were fantastic," he said after the game. "We didn't start well but after the first 15 minutes we did well against difficult opponents. Today was the day of our players.
"The most important thing was the reaction after we conceded a goal. I won't talk about individual performances because it was all about the team. The team worked very well.
"We did well in attack and defence and the reaction when we lost the ball was fantastic. The set-pieces were also very good.
"I am very happy with all the players. There were 11 players trying and working together to win the game and that it what I appreciate."
The victory lifts the Owls up to seventh in the Sky Bet Championship, one point adrift of Ipswich and the play-off spots but Carvalhal is keeping his feet on the ground adding: "We don't get euphoric after winning a game and we don't get too down after losing. We are progressing and at this moment we are in a good position."
Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett said: "We started well but didn't defend well enough and didn't compete well enough. We weren't compact enough out of possession.
"I was disappointed with the goals and you could see the confidence going out of the side.
"We didn't win enough first balls and the more we attacked in the second half, we looked very open.
"My first impression was that both penalties were both penalties. I also thought we were worthy of a penalty on Jordan Graham in the second half.
"Sheffield Wednesday had far too many chances for us to warrant us getting a point. (They) are a good side and we didn't do enough to hold on to the lead."
Wolves have now suffered back-to-back defeats to slip to within seven points of the relegation zone.
In response to that predicament, Jackett said: "Football management is what it is and I can certainly accept being in the firing line because it is a worrying slump."
