Rotherham manager Neil Warnock says his defender Richard Wood should have scored a hat-trick in their 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest.

Saturday's Championship game had plenty of chances but neither side could find a winner and both remain nine points clear of the relegation places.

Wood was the guiltiest player on the pitch for failing to break the deadlock after hitting the crossbar from close range and then heading over from just a yard out.

"I showed him a match ball and told him this is what he should have had," Warnock said. "He has missed from two foot and two inches. I don't know how he has done it and he doesn't either. He had four simple chances but that's life.

"I'm delighted. It's a cracking point and both sides will argue that they should have won. A point probably suits both teams in the situation that we are both in.

"Tactically we were slightly amiss in the first half but we were more dominant in the second. You look at their squad on paper and why they're down there with us, I will never know.

"I want to go 13 games unbeaten until the end of the season. We have got a super dressing room. We lack a little bit in the tactical side but we make up for it in what we have got under our shirts. It's my kind of football."

Forest caretaker manager Paul Williams was pleased to stop the rot after four straight defeats but says their attention is now on their Tuesday night game against Blackburn.

"I've been trying to focus on the performances and apart from the Brentford game we've been slowly building blocks. We played some really good stuff today and I've told the players we've got to keep going now," Williams said.

"Blackburn is a game where hopefully we can put in a good performance and get the icing on the cake with a few goals. We need to focus on getting the three points.

"We rode our luck with them hitting the crossbar but I think we created the majority of the chances. There were some good play from the players and Ryan (Mendes) had a few chances to get us the points but I think on the whole a draw might be fair."

Forest had a shout for a penalty when Henri Lansbury was brought down in the box by Stephen Kelly.

"The lad definitely took Henri out," Williams added. "You've seen them given but the referee had a different view on it.

"Either Henri was going to put it in the back of the net or you're going to have to do something about it. The referee saw it in their favour."
