Huddersfield midfielder Dean Whitehead has decided to see out the final year of his contract despite receiving an offer from Sky Bet Championship rivals Rotherham.
The 34-year-old is tied down to the John Smith's Stadium until the end of the season, but was offered a one-year deal by the Millers.
The South Yorkshire club expected Whitehead to sign last week, but the veteran has had second thoughts and will now stay and challenge for a place in David Wagner's side.
He said at a press conference previewing the Terriers' pre-season friendly with Liverpool on Wednesday: "I've received the offer (from Rotherham), I've had a look at it but Huddersfield is the place for me.
"I've spoken to the boss, I like the way he plays. I'm enjoying it and I want to stay here and fight for my place."
