Ipswich will be without defender Tristan Nydam through illness for the Sky Bet Championship match against Burton at Portman Road.

Defender Adam Webster is fit again following an Achilles problem, so could come into contention after being a late substitute in last weekend's win at Sunderland, while Gambia winger Mustapha Carayol will be hoping to make his debut.

Forward David McGoldrick could also back in contention after recovering from a knee problem, while midfielder Tom Adeyemi (hamstring) continues his recovery.

Veteran goalkeeper Dean Gerken, though, has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing hip surgery. Emyr Huws, Luke Hyam and Andre Dozzell are all unavailable following their respective knee operations.

Tom Flanagan will be absent for Burton with a calf injury and he could be out of action for the rest of the month. Fellow defender Ben Turner is also a doubt for the trip with a calf complaint of his own while Luke Murphy has a cut shin.

With Flanagan out injured, Stephen Warnock on loan at Bradford and Ryan Delaney having left to join Rochdale, Damien McCrory is Burton's only remaining recognised left-back. Darren Bent and Martin Samuelsen missed the defeat at Aston Villa through injury and illness respectively but both could return.
