Defender keen to repay O'Driscoll's faith

Doncaster defender Sean McDaid is hoping to earn himself a new deal at the Keepmoat Stadium. McDaid was handed a 12-month contract in the summer by manager Sean O'Driscoll despite not playing for over a year following knee surgery. However, the 23-year-old realises he cannot expect the same gesture again and says he is confident of returning to the first team in the new year and proving his worth. "I know I've got to pull out all the stops in the second half of the season to win myself a new contract," he told The Star. "I certainly hope to be pushing for a first-team spot early in the new year. I've got to keep my head down and keep working hard."
