Di Matteo hopes youngster can play regular football
Peterborough United have finalised the signing of West Bromwich Albion forward Reuben Reid on a three-month loan deal.
Reid, who can play up front or on the wing, has struggled to make an impact at West Brom since joining from Rotherham United last summer.
He has yet to start a game in the Championship this season, appearing as a substitute just four times, and has been allowed to gain experience of the division with Peterborough.
Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo is hoping that the 21-year-old will play on a regular basis at London Road and he is in contention for a starting role against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
"Peterborough have been chasing Reuben for a while now," Di Matteo told the club's
official website.
"I recommended to Reuben that he go because he will hopefully play week in, week out.
"It's always better to play than being on the bench, playing 10 minutes here and there or in the reserves.
"It's very important for him to get football at this level. We'll see how he gets on."
