Skysports.com understands Malta international Andre Schembri is a target for a number of English clubs in this month's transfer window.
Schembri, who is currently plying his trade in Austria with SK Austria Karnten, has attracted interest from clubs in England, Italy, Spain, Germany and Greece.
The 23-year-old is regarded as Malta's brightest prospect having made 30 appearances for his country and he has impressed at SK Austria Karnten.
The highly-rated attacker was linked with Aston Villa during his early days and now several Championship and League One sides are monitoring his progress.
SK Austria Karnten are thought to be willing to listen to offers for Schembri as they look to ease their financial problems.
Schembri has been training with Ferencvaros and the Hungarians are interested in signing the skilful midfielder, but Italian side Ascoli are also keen on luring Schembri away from Austria.
