Hornets manager wants wins on the road
Watford boss Malky Mackay said a number of young triallists will be returning to the club next week after impressing in a reserve game.
The Hornets are keen to hold onto several talented youngsters they currently have on trial and five featured in their reserve fixture on Monday, which included Everton's Moses Barnett and John Nolan.
However the former Celtic defender said even if they are offered a contract in the summer, they will not be expected to challenge for a first-team spot.
"We've brought some more youth players in on trial to see whether we can bring them in during the summer to be part of the youth set-up we have here," said Mackay.
"They aren't going to come in and go straight into the first-team.
"There are a couple of them that will be coming back for further assessment in the next week or so."
Relegation zone
The Hornets are hovering just above the relegation zone with just three points separating them from third from bottom club Sheffield Wednesday.
But Mackay wants his side to start picking up points on the road especially as just one of their remaining four games will be at Vicarage Road.
"We've certainly had a few away performances recently that merited more points than they earned - especially at Preston," said Mackay.
"We created a lot of chances at Cardiff as well in the first half so there are signs that we can get points on the road.
"The home game we have left will obviously be a big one for us but we've got to make sure that we go to Leicester and QPR and pick up points as well."
