Return Down Under for Aussie international

Crystal Palace midfielder Nick Carle is about to leave the club for a switch to Australian side Sydney FC. Carle has agreed a three-year deal with the A-League outfit, ending his two-year spell in English football. The 28-year-old still had two years left to run on his contract at Selhurst Park but has been able to secure a release from the financially stricken outfit. The Australian international, who was controversially left out of Pim Verbeek's preliminary World Cup squad, is expected to be unveiled by Sydney later in the week. Carle spent six months at Bristol City before his move to Palace and his move to Sydney brings an end to his four years away from the Australian game.
