Midfielder does not know where his future lies

Cardiff midfielder Gavin Rae is keeping his options open but claims he will fight for his first-team place. The 32-year-old midfielder was linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window, with fellow Championship side Leeds United touted as a possible destination. Speculation mounted after Cardiff signed a number of new players after their transfer embargo was lifted, but a switch never materialised. Rae admits that he wants to stay with the Welsh club but says he needs to be playing regular, first-team football. "I started the first game of the season but then we strengthened with a lot of players and it looked like I might have to move on at one point," he told the club's official website. "But that never materialised and I'm still here fighting for my place. "I don't want to leave but if my games are limited then I might have to. "I'm settled here with my family and I really don't want to leave but it might still come to that, you never know. "It's difficult going on loan because we've got two young kids and I don't want to uproot my family to the end of the season without knowing what's going to happen next season."
