Japanese midfielder now settled with Foxes

Leicester City midfielder Yuki Abe is targeting an improvement now he has settled in England. The 29-year-old Japan international moved to the Foxes from Urawa Red Diamonds in August and has made 11 appearances in the Championship this season, starting five times. Abe admits he is now coming to grips with life in Leicester and hopes to keep getting better at the Walkers Stadium. "I'm definitely more comfortable with a lot of things now. I'm starting to enjoy the lifestyle and the football culture over here," he said. "My English is getting better and so is my communication with my team-mates. "I get to start games now and I believe I can still improve on my current level of play." On manager Sven Goran Eriksson, he added: "He is very famous and it is an honour to play under him. I'm learning a lot from him and he has given me good advice." Abe was often played out of position by former manager Paulo Sousa, but under Eriksson he has now moved into central midfield. Eriksson believes he will continue to flourish in the middle of the park and praised the attitude of the Japanese worker. "Maybe that is not his best position and he could be even better in a central role," the Swede remarked. "He is a good player with a lot of energy and he is very willing to learn."
