Doncaster boss Dean Saunders hailed goal heroes Billy Sharp and El-Hadji Diouf after his team's surprise 3-2 victory at Ipswich.
The Senegal international netted twice, either side of a header from Sharp, as Rovers notched only their second ever win at Portman Road.
Sharp scored for the second time in a week when he has been grieving the death of his baby son.
Rovers remain bottom of the Championship but moved level on points with fellow strugglers Coventry with their third victory of the season.
Tragic
"El-Hadji Diouf showed his class," said the Welshman.
"I've not said anything to him apart from go out there and play your football and he won the game for us.
"As for Billy, he's had a tragic thing happen to him and a tough week.
"Today he got a goal and three points for his family.
"He told me he's run out of tears. He can't cry any more but he's done well to get through the games."
Saunders added: "We played really well and our finishing was great.
"We're not a bottom-of-the-table team. We've got some good players - it's just a case of stringing everything together now."
Doncaster stormed into a 3-0 half-time lead before Ipswich substitute Josh Carson prodded home to reduce the deficit on 53 minutes.
Michael Chopra headed past Neil Sullivan in injury-time, but it was too late for the home side.
Vulnerable
Deflated Ipswich boss Paul Jewell said "We're giving calamitous goals away and when you do that, you're always going to be up against it.
"When we're bad, we're hopeless and we look so vulnerable.
"We showed a bit of character in the second half but our first-half performance killed us.
"We're making basic errors and they're experienced players out there, as well as one or two young ones.
"But at three down, we had a mountain to climb and our goals against tally tells you that we don't defend very well."
