Sky Blues' financial woes easing as club halve monthly losses
Coventry chairman Ken Dulieu believes the club have now emerged from their most difficult period in recent times.
Dulieu was appointed to his role in March and helped prevent the club from going into administration for the second time in three years, with the help of owners SISU.
It triggered a complete overhaul of a club that was then estimated to be losing £500,000-a-month.
Players left the Ricoh Arena in the close season and very little investment went into acquiring replacements for them.
Business
With this in mind, it is no surprise to see that Andy Thorn's team have struggled in the Championship this term, which has placed further burden on the relationship between supporters and the owners.
Dulieu, however, is now only focused on looking forward and believes the club's supporters should be optimistic about the future.
"My job at Coventry is to lead a management turnaround of the business," he told the
Coventry Telegraph.
"I do believe our darkest hour has passed but I do not kid myself about how tough the challenge is.
Blueprint
"(Here) we are dealing with a single owner whom I am convinced will continue to support this club if we can achieve the turnaround.
"We have made tremendous inroads and practically halved our monthly loss, the blueprint is now in place and, if that is followed, the club will achieve breakeven within a reasonable timescale.
"It will then be in a much stronger position."
