Doncaster Rovers defender Adam Lockwood has revealed he is uncertain of his future as his contract draws to a close.
The 30-year-old has become a senior figure within the dressing room and is now the second longest serving player behind James Coppinger.
Rovers will play their football in League One next term following their relegation from the Championship, but he wants to remain at the Keepmoat and help them attain promotion.
Lockwood missed part of the season through injury but hopes he has done enough to earn himself a new deal.
Contract
"My focus in recent weeks has been on doing what I get paid for, and that is playing football for the club, and doing my best," he told the
South Yorkshire Times.
"It's down to other people whether I've done enough to earn myself a new contract and we'll have to wait and see what happens.
"After having had a long spell out of the game I'm just happy to be playing games again at the minute."
Rovers signed many high-profile players such as El-Hadji Diouf this season and there are sure to be changes during the summer as Dean Saunders looks to put together a more settled squad.
Changes
Lockwood added: "Everyone is disappointed and will be for some time to come, but there is no point in dwelling on it.
"It has happened and it is up to everyone here next season to try and pull together and help the club move forward again.
"Whether I'll still be here, I don't know. There are going to be changes during the summer as there always are at all clubs."
