Peterborough United's transfer-listed defender Scott Griffiths says he feels like an 'outcast' at the club as is keen to secure a permanent move away from London Road as soon as possible.
The 26-year-old has been frozen out at of the first-team picture at Posh for some time, not making a senior appearance for the club since April 2010.
The full-back has been twice sent out on loan to Chesterfield and had further spells at Crawley and Rotherham in an attempt to secure regular football.
Griffiths accepts that he has no future with Posh but is still working hard to get fit for the new season in order to impress any interested clubs.
"I've got another year left on my contract at Peterborough, but it has been dead for me there for a good year and a half now, since Gary Johnson came in really," he told
Sky Sports.
"It is a bit like being outcast slightly, but I don't mind too much as long as I'm getting physically prepared for the start of the new season, wherever that may be.
Ready to go
"That is all that matters to me because I want to be sharp, fit and ready to go for whenever a club comes in and offers me something.
"I've been doing my own fitness work alongside what the club are providing as well, so I'm feeling really good at the moment.
"I'm used to doing training at the club knowing that I won't be selected for the first-team because it has been like that for the past two years now.
"That is just the way it goes, with one manager favouring you and the next not, so it is just a case of getting to a club where the manager wants me, that I'm part of the team and where they can get the best out of me again."
Interest from England has been slow, with only Gillingham making an enquiry, so Griffiths revealed he may consider offers from abroad.
However, he would only see a move away from the UK as a temporary option in order to kick-start his career.
"It has been a bit quiet so far, but my agent almost had something lined up for me at Gillingham," he added.
"However, for some reason they dropped their interest, but I'm not entirely sure why they chose not to pursue it further.
Anything is a possibility
"There are still a couple of weeks left of pre-season and a lot of moves tend to go through quite late in the transfer window.
"I'd be interested in places like America or Australia, but someone even mentioned Russia, so at the moment anything is a possibility.
"If a European side was interested then I'd consider that too and if I felt that it was the right thing for both me personally and my career.
"It would be a whole new league with a different set of players, fans and surroundings to experience and enjoy.
"It depends where it is I guess, but I wouldn't like to be out of the English game for too long if I'm honest.
"A year or two would be long enough, but that all depends how things go both on and off the pitch I guess."
