Luke Norris says the decision to join Gillingham was 'a no-brainer' as he did not figure in Brentford's future plans.
The 21-year-old striker has agreed a two-year contract at Priestfield and will move for a fee due to be set by tribunal.
The youngster is a product of Brentford’s academy system and had hoped to make the grade at the Championship new boys, but he claims to have jumped at the chance to kick-start his career at an ambitious third tier outfit.
Norris said: “I had already been told I would just be going out on loan again, so it was a no-brainer really.
“Moving gave me security and the chance to play first team football.
“It was best for my career.
“I think I did well when I did get a chance in the first team, and after four years it was just time for me to move on.
“They offered me a deal knowing I would move on, but I have a lot to be thankful to Brentford for as they took a risk on met at 16 and gave me a chance.
“The club are going places and will do well in the future. I loved my time there and wish them all the best.”
