Championship fixtures 2015/16: Tough openers for Burnley and QPR
Wednesday 17 June 2015 14:38, UK
Last season's relegated teams Burnley and QPR face a tough start to their 2015/16 Championship season.
Sean Dyche's Burnley only survived in the Premier League for just one season and they'll be desperate to kick-off their Championship campaign in style when they travel to Uwe Rosler's Leeds United for a tricky opener.
There was plenty of finger-wagging among the QPR squad after their drop in May but Chris Ramsey's team will have to be at their best in their first game on August 8 in a tasty London derby at Charlton Athletic.
Less than three months after thrashing Swindon in the League One final, Preston, who had lost in their previous nine play-offs, are back in the second tier after a four-year absence and face an intriguing contest in front of their home fans against Middlesbrough.
Opening fixtures on August 8:
Birmingham City v Reading
Blackburn Rovers v Wolverhampton
Bolton Wanderers v Derby County
Brentford v Ipswich Town
Brighton v Nottingham Forest
Cardiff City v Fulham
Charlton Athletic v QPR
Hull City v Huddersfield Town
Leeds United v Burnley
Preston North End v Middlesbrough
Rotherham United v MK Dons
Sheffield Wednesday v Bristol City
