FL Team of the Week

Skysports.com selects the best of the bunch from the latest round of Football League fixtures.

Team of the week

John Ruddy - Norwich City
John Ruddy may have been the villain in the piece having conceded a late penalty to Swansea, but he pulled off a superb save to keep the Canaries in the game and they punished the Swans at the other end. No sooner had Ruddy denied Cotterill than Ashley Williams' own goal at the other end clinched the win. Simeon Jackson added a second in injury-time to inflict further misery on Swansea.
Terrell Forbes - Leyton Orient
Terrell Forbes earned Leyton Orient a point in their trip to highly-fancied Southampton. It looked business as usual for the Saints as Rickie Lambert opened the scoring, but Forbes' well-taken header soon after secured an unlikely point for the Os at St Mary's leaving Southampton still searching for their first league success.
Bradley Orr - QPR
Orr helped maintain QPR's 100 per cent start to the new Championship season by scoring Neil Warnock's side's first goal in a comfortable 2-0 success over Scunthorpe United at Loftus Road. The Rs have now won their opening three league fixtures without conceding a single goal.
Ben Turner - Coventry City
The young defender capped a fine performance this week with the winner in Coventry's 2-1 success over Derby County at the Ricoh Arena. The 22-year-old scored his first senior goal to maintain the Sky Blues' excellent start to the campaign, while the Rams have now lost two straight after winning at Leeds.
Andy Dawson - Hull City
Hull City shipped in four goals in last weekend's 4-0 drubbing at Millwall. Tigers fans will have been pleased with a much-needed clean sheet against Watford at the KC Stadium. The left-back did what he had to and was defensively sound as the teams shared a point apiece.
Giles Coke - Sheffield Wednesday
The Sheffield Wednesday midfielder maintained the Owls' fine start to the campaign by scoring a well-taken goal in a 1-0 win over Brighton at Hillsborough. Wednesday have now taken seven points from their opening three fixtures.
Dean Furman - Oldham Athletic
The Latics midfielder is developing a keen eye for goal and his second goal in two matches, another stunner, secured a fully-deserved point for Oldham at The Valley. Furman's long-range special on the stroke of half-time ensured visiting fans made the trip home with smiles on their faces.
Lloyd Sam - Leeds United
The free transfer arrival is looking a fine signing for Leeds. The ex-Charlton man netted in his third consecutive game for Leeds against Millwall as Simon Grayson's team recovered from a goal down to beat their former League One rivals in a classic encounter at Elland Road.
Adam Le Fondre - Rotherham
There were hat-tricks aplenty from the Football League this weekend, but only one man mustered a four-goal haul. Rotherham were up against it when Cheltenham led 3-1 at Don Valley, but aided by Le Fondre's four goals, the Miller eventually ran out 6-4 winners in a thrilling battle.
Craig Bellamy - Cardiff City
The Welshman's arrival at Cardiff last week caused a stir and he lived up to the hype on his weekend debut with two assists and a goal in the Bluebirds' impressive 4-0 demolition job over Doncaster Rovers. His team-mate Jay Bothroyd also deserves a mention for a well-taken double.
Davide Somma - Leeds United
Little was known about the South African striker, who spent some of last season on loan with Lincoln, but he emerged off the bench to make a name for himself with a brace in Leeds' 3-1 Championship success over Millwall - their first league win since winning promotion from League One.
