Birmingham explore permanent signing of Huddersfield's James Vaughan

Birmingham City are hoping to sign Huddersfield's James Vaughan on a permanent deal or at least extend his loan until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old striker joined the Blues on loan in November and has made six appearances for the club.
Vaughan impressed in Saturday's 2-1 win over Brentford at St Andrew's and boss Gary Rowett revealed the club are working on a deal to keep him at the club.
"We have spoken to Vaughany. He needs to speak to Huddersfield, but we would certainly like to keep him for longer," Rowett said.
"I think the issue is how long we are going to be able to keep him for; how much he wants to come and play for us, even if it is until the end of the season.
"In an ideal world if he is able to negotiate a deal to get out of Huddersfield at the moment then I think he would certainly like an 18-month deal, and it's just whether we are in a position at the moment to do that.
"He has done great for us. We are really pleased with him. He showed again against Brentford he was highly motivated on the pitch.
"It is up to Huddersfield. When we have had players we know their characters, the impact they have had, and sometimes it's easier to take some of those players, rather than suddenly start looking again and not know what you are going to get.
"It is always a fine balance for us because if Clayton Donaldson is fit, more often than not Clayton plays. So then it is getting someone who is able to sit on the bench and have an impact, or start games as well sometimes."
Vaughan began his career as a trainee at Everton, with loans at Derby, Leicester and Crystal Palace, before signing for Norwich City in a £2.5m deal in 2011.
Huddersfield signed him for £1m in 2013 and he has made over 50 appearances for the Terriers, scoring 19 goals.
