Izzet regrets handball error

Muzzy Izzet regrets his crazy handball that handed Everton a 1-0 win at Birmingham.

The Turkish international midfielder produced a double-handed save on the line to tip away Thomas Gravesen's 69th minute effort.

Izzet had also handled the ball a week earlier at Anfield to deny Liverpool a goal, but this time it was impossible to miss the offence.

The former Leicester man was trudging off the pitch as referee Rob Styles raised the red card, and he says it was just instinct that made him do it.

"It was just instinct," said Izzet.

"You just do it. I know it's wrong but you automatically try to stop the goal.

"I shouldn't have done it but it's the kind of thing you just do.

"It has cost me because I got sent off, they scored from the penalty and now I've got a ban but there's no argument."
