Defender suffered knee problem in draw with Everton
Birmingham City are hoping for a positive outcome as they await news on the extent of Roger Johnson's knee injury.
The 26-year-old played through the pain barrier to pull off another superb performance for the Blues, who held on to a 1-1 draw with Everton on Sunday.
Alex McLeish had been prepared to substitute the enthusiastic defender who insisted he stayed on the pitch despite obvious discomfort throughout the game.
His fitness is not yet known and it remains to be seen whether his presence in the Blues' back-four continues after this latest setback.
Lion-heart
McLeish has heaped praise on Johnson's determined attitude towards the game but admits his concern over the player's long-term fitness.
"He had a problem with his knee and the doctor told us to keep an eye on him," said the Blues boss.
"We got a couple of messages from the players that he was 'gone' but Roger kept waving us away, he's that type of character.
"I hope he doesn't have any lasting damage because he is vital to our aspirations.
"I don't know, we will see him today, 24 hours later, we'll see if anything is going to be a problem for him."
