Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has confirmed that he will not be signing Jan Novak.
Skysports.com revealed earlier this week that the Slovakian international would not be moving to St Andrews.
Now McLeish has revealed why he decided against landing the MFK Kosice front-man during the January transfer window.
"It was a difficult one," said McLeish.
"He came in and trained with us didn't look too bad but I don't really know enough about Jan to make a commitment of two or three million pounds.
"I feel I've got to go for players at the moment that I'm fully aware of."
