Black Cats land midfielder on three-year deal
Skysports.com understands Sunderland have signed David Vaughan on a three-year deal.
Vaughan, who arrives at the Stadium of Light on a free transfer, agreed personal terms and passed his medical late on Thursday night.
The 28-year-old left Blackpool earlier this summer after seeing out his contract at Bloomfield Road.
The Wales international was one of Blackpool's top performers last season and his performances alerted a number of Premier League sides to his availbility.
The likes of West Brom and Wolves had been linked with Vaughan, but Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has managed to lure him to Wearside.
Vaughan's move follows hot on the heels of the transfers of Manchester United duo Wes Brown and John O'Shea on Thursday as Sunderland continue their busy recruitment process this summer.
