Derby striker hit with violent conduct charge

Derby's Craig Fagan has been charged with violent conduct in relation to an incident during the game against Liverpool on Saturday. The Rams striker appeared to stamp on Alvaro Arbeloa's calf in an incident which went unseen by Alan Wiley. He therefore escaped punishment during the game but, after reviewing video evidence, Wiley has decided to draw attention to the matter. Fagan now has until 6pm on Wednesday evening to either admit or deny the charge, or else he will face an automatic three-match ban. Derby lost 6-0 to Liverpool to leave them bottom of the Premier League table after five games.
