Championship club hunting for technical director

Derby chief executive Tom Glick believes appointing a technical director will help boost the club's fortunes in the transfer market. The Rams are seeking someone to assist with the operations side of the club, like the role chairman of football Adam Pearson occupied before departing for Hull City in October 2009. Derby missed out on several captures in the January transfer window, one of which was striker Conor Sammon, who moved to Wigan from Kilmarnock. And Glick is keen to avoid missing targets in the future, telling the Derby Telegraph: "By adding this person we think we will be that much sharper, that much more on the front foot in terms of acquisition of players as well as moving players on at the right time. "One of the key aspects of the role would mean being the point person in the final process of acquiring a player or moving a player on, working with the player and the other club as well as the agent. "Right now that falls largely to me, which is great and I am certainly not removing myself from the process, it is just about having another person who can help us get a little bit further forward. "We are interested in adding some talent and some expertise and some depth to our team. "We are looking to bring somebody in who can just help us shift gears and advance and get even better. Somebody who can build on the strengths we already have."
