Derby youngster Ryan Connolly has completed a loan switch to Scottish First Division side Ayr United.
The 19-year-old midfielder will remain in Scotland until the end of December.
Connolly is a second-year professional at Pride Park and is expected to force his way into the first-team picture in the near future.
He has made one senior appearance to date, with his Rams debut coming on the final day of the 2009/10 campaign.
Derby believe he will benefit from a spell taking in regular football and are hoping Ayr can help to further his development.
Rams boss Nigel Clough told the club's
official website: "It will be good experience for Ryan to go out and play games regularly, especially after being out for so long last season."
Connolly suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury last term and has only recently returned to full fitness.
