Spanish midfielder Jonathan Aspas has started a trial with Preston North End this week.
The 28-year-old, a former Celta Vigo player who most recently plied his trade at former Belgium side Mouscron, is training at Deepdale along with young compatriot Felix Barrachina.
Aspas' agent Rui Alves hopes the player will make an impact on manager Darren Ferguson during his time with the Lilywhites.
Alves told
skysports.com: "I believe this is the kind of player Preston need to reinforce themselves with experience, good team spirit and hard work for the team.
"However, only the performances of the player can confirm this to the manager.
"Hopefully Jonathan will convince Darren Ferguson in the next few weeks."
