Saido Berahino's future should be decided in the next 24 hours as soon as Diafra Sakho completes his move to West Brom, according to Sky sources.
Sky sources understand Crystal Palace and Stoke have submitted bids of £20m for the 22-year-old forward.
Berahino, who attempted to force through a move to Tottenham last August, lives in Staffordshire and is believed to prefer a move to Stoke over Palace.
West Brom assistant manager David Kemp insisted on Monday night that Berahino's future was in the hands of the club, despite him having just one year remaining on his contract.
"That side of business is in our hands," he told Sky Sports News HQ. "So, we'll have to see what happens with that, but he has trained hard pre-season and played hard. We'll have to see which way that goes."
Sky sources also understand West Brom have agreed a £16m fee with West Ham for forward Sakho, who is due to discuss personal terms and have a medical this week.
Kemp, speaking after West Brom's 2-1 pre-season defeat at non-League Torquay, confirmed the club are keen to strengthen their attacking options and was hopeful new strikers will be added to the squad ahead of the new season.
"I think we're a bit thin, we would obviously like to bring players in and the club are trying to do that," Kemp said. "Like I said we'll have to wait and see, but we would certainly like to strengthen the squad.
"We know where we are at, we have a good group of players here, they are honest, hard-working players and that's what you want. We are looking to add quality to that and hopefully that will happen.
"We were more positive in our attacking play tonight, although we only scored one goal. We certainly need to strengthen there, we are short of forwards anyway and hopefully we can do something in that department."
