Megson still keen on Koumas

WEST BROM boss Gary Megson remains on the trail of Tranmere Rovers midfielder Jason Koumas as he seeks to bolster The Baggies' promotion bid.

Megson has waged a long-term pursuit of the highly-rated Koumas and had a £2 million bid rejected by the Second Division side earlier in the season.

With The Baggies pushing hard for a place in The Premiership, Megson is determined to strengthen his armoury, with Koumas's name at the top of his shopping list.

"The squad definitely still needs strengthening. We need one more player but it has to be the right one," said Megson.

"What we have got is a set of players whose work rate is as good as any other team in the country.

"But we could still do with a bit more quality.

"I know the player I want and I think he could solve a few problems - not just one,"
