Boss targets 42-point mark

West Brom coach Roy Hodgson admits he is hopeful one more win could ensure Premier League survival. The Baggies have gone seven games unbeaten and secured 12 points in six matches since the experienced boss arrived at the club. With fans contemplating relegation at the turn of the New Year, the revival at The Hawthorns had been as rapid as it has been surprising. With 39 points already in the bag this term, Hodgson and the Baggies are now hopeful one more win will be enough to assure Premier League safety. After a turbulent spell at Anfield, Hodgson admitted that while results at his new club have exceeded expectations, his side still have work to do. "It's a really good start, but unfortunately we are still in a relegation battle," he said ahead of the arrival of Chelsea on Saturday. "We were sufficiently immersed seven games ago that even a good run of results like we've had doesn't get you out of it completely. "With so many teams involved, I don't think any coach could really tell you what the number [of points] required is, but I would like to think that 42 points would be enough. "We've got six matches to get points, and I would like to think we were good enough to get at least six points from those matches."
