Transfer news: Alan Irvine working hard to bring right recruits into West Brom

Alan Irvine is doing his 'homework' as he trawls through a 'lot of names' on the possible incoming list at West Bromwich Albion.
Having inherited a squad upon taking the managerial reins at The Hawthorns, Irvine is eager to put his own stamp on things.
Recruits will be required, with West Brom having turned to a new boss after narrowly avoiding the drop in 2013/14.
Irvine is working hard to ensure that those drafted in will strengthen the ranks and offer something different to those already on the books.
That is not a quick process, though, and extra care is being taken in the identification of top targets.
Irvine is, however, confident that his considered approach to transfer business will produce a positive outcome.
He said in the Birmingham Mail: "We are trawling through a lot of names.
"We're trying to make sure we do our homework in terms of the knowledge we already have - looking at videos, looking at a lot of players.
"We will continue that process. It’s obviously vitally important that you find out about the character and personality of players."
