West Brom head coach Tony Pulis has revealed the make-up of his backroom staff after confirming the appointment of David Kemp and Paul Jewell.

Alan Irvine was sacked as Baggies boss on December 29 and his team of coaches – Keith Downing, Dean Kiely and Rob Kelly – left the club on Monday.

Pulis, who guided his new side to a 7-0 FA Cup victory over Gateshead in his first game in charge, has now confirmed his team of coaches.

The former Stoke and Crystal Palace manager will work alongside Kemp once again while Paul Jewell, who lost his job as Ipswich boss in 2012, also makes the move to The Hawthorns.

I don’t know what I’ve done to suffer Kempy again but I suppose I will have to put up with him!

"I don’t know what I’ve done to suffer Kempy again but I suppose I will have to put up with him!" Pulis told West Brom’s official website.

"The truth is that we have a working relationship which I value very highly – he knows what I want without even having to ask these days.

"Jewelly’ is someone I have known for a long time. We got to know each other on coaching courses as well as in opposition – he has massive experience and when I thought about what I wanted for this post, he fitted the bill perfectly.

Delighted

"I’m delighted we have got him and I am sure the players will enjoy working with him.

"There are one or two other things we shall be putting in place over the next few days before everything is settled.

Tony Pulis celebrated a first win as West Brom manager as his side beat Gateshead 7-0 in the FA Cup

"It is never a pleasant task making changes because it always means some fellow professionals have to leave the club. I would just like to say that while I only worked with Keith, Dean and Rob for a short time, they impressed me as top lads who I wish well for the future."

Kemp is looking forward to working with Pulis once again, having first partnered him at Portsmouth 15 years ago.

"We struck up a bond way back at Portsmouth in 2000 as manager and assistant. It’s been successful and we have kept it going,” he said.

"Tony is the main man and my job is to support him in every way to help make the team successful. I’m really impressed with the club and it’s our responsibility to make it successful."
