West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt has been charged over an incident in the tunnel after the FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park.
The 30-year-old Northern Ireland international is alleged to have used abusive language towards a match official at the end of the quarter-final, which saw several pitch invasions sully a 2-0 victory for Villa over their local rivals.
A statement on the FA website confirmed: "West Bromwich Albion’s Chris Brunt has been charged following the FA Cup quarter-final tie against Aston Villa on Saturday 7 March 2015.
"It is alleged that in or around the tunnel area after the end of the fixture the player used abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards a Match Official.
"He has until 6pm on 12 March 2015 to respond to the charge."
In an ill-tempered game that saw Jack Grealish sent off for the hosts and Claudio Yacob for the visitors, Tim Sherwood's side moved into the semi-finals courtesy of goals from Fabian Delph and Scott Sinclair.
West Brom, who are currently lying in 13th place and eight points above the relegation zone, welcome Stoke to the Hawthorns on Saturday.
