Kinnear reveals Proudlock annoyance
LUTON TOWN manager Joe Kinnear has revealed that Adam Proudlock's recent dismissal in a reserve team encounter has scuppered a potential loan move for the Wolves starlet.
The 20-year-old was shown red after stamping incident in the game against Rotherham United's second XI and now the ensuing four-match ban means any loan move will have to be put on hold.
Proudlock has fallen down the pecking order at Molineux this season, after the arrivals of Nathan Blake, Kenny Miller and Dean Sturridge and Wolves boss Dave Jones is seemingly prepared to let him leave on loan.
However, Kinnear has now had to shelve any plans he had for Proudlock as he is suspended for most of March, but he did admit that he would love to resurrect the move at a later date.
"I have got a hit-list of strikers and we are trying to get something sorted," Kinnear told planetfootball.com.
"I am very much interested in him [Proudlock] and have spoken to Dave Jones about him, but he has just been suspended after stamping on a lad.
"I was at the game when he got sent-off, and so I am not going to take anyone while they are suspended.
"It is something I would very much like to do in the future. I would have taken him now if he hadn't been sent-off."
Planetfootball.com can also reveal that Anderlecht striker Ben Mbemba has returned to the club for a second trial.
The Congolese international has already spent time on trial at Kenilworth Road this season when he trained at Luton last October, and also at Wimbledon, but neither of the clubs followed up their initial interest.
Mbemba is now back at Luton, after a move to Dutch side De Graafschap failed to materialise.
"He started training with us today and will stay for the rest of the week," Kinnear confirmed.
"He will play in a friendly this week and we will see how things go."
Kinnear also confirmed that Walsall's Adolphus Ofodile will return to the club this week as he weighs up whether to push through a deal for the Nigerian front-man.
